Shaochen started her calligraphy business, Monstera Gold, in 2019, only a few months after taking her first calligraphy class. She spent 6 months exploring different service offerings and learning new skills to find what she loved, and landed on wedding calligraphy. She was picking up momentum just as 2020 rolled around and postponed all her weddings - a huge blow for a brand new business. After the initial panic, she applied her previous business experience and found her passion in mentoring, and to date she's helped over 200 calligraphers start and grow their dream businesses through mentoring and courses, in addition to working with hundreds of wedding clients in Colorado and California.
